  • Quay Bar Manager

    We are seeking an innovative and dynamic leader to manage our friendly, modern Quay Bar and function bar.

    You will possess excellent people skills and have a proven track-record of professionally managing or supervising an upmarket bar. You will be responsible for recruiting, training and motivating your team in addition to controlling costs, maintaining strict hygiene standards, undertaking stock-takes and spear-heading marketing campaigns to increase revenue.

    The Quay Bar is located by the River Stour and is open for breakfast, morning coffee, lunch and dinner. We serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and pride ourselves on our excellent service, warm welcome and extensive cocktail list.   • Hotel Receptionist

    Job description

    You will be allocated shifts as a Hotel Porter or as a Receptionist on a rota basis. As a Porter you will be responsible for monitoring hotel security, food and drinks room service to guests and carrying out cleaning duties and efficient transferral of luggage. Ensuring hotel public areas are to the highest possible standards and assist guests with requests or enquiries.

    As a receptionist, you will welcome guests to our hotel, making future reservations for them, and generally attending to any needs during their stay. The ideal candidate will be committed to ensuring that guests experience maximum satisfaction, presenting an excellent image of our hotel that leaves a lasting impression.

    Required Skills

    • Outstanding communication and listening skills, in addition to basic computer knowledge
    • Team player
    • Have an enthusiasm and possess superb customer service skills
    • Take pleasure in working with people and have a welcoming and outgoing personality

    Education and Experience Requirements

    • Experience essential.
    • Guest care skills need to be exemplary.
    • Shifts will be early (starting at 7am) and late shifts (starting at 3pm)

    The Captains Club Hotel and Spa is recruiting for a flexible, enthusiastic and experienced Bartender/mixologist to join our bar team in the Club area of the hotel.

    With fantastic customer service skills and good food and wine knowledge, the successful candidate will be able to mix and match ingredients in order to create classic and innovative drinks in accordance with customers’ needs and expectations.

    Responsibilities:

    • Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages
    • Interact with customers, take orders and serve snacks and drinks
    • Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
    • Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails
    • Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age
    • Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
    • Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
    • Comply with all food and beverage regulations

     
    Desirable:

    • 1+ years of experience as a bartender

     
    Essential:

    • Excellent knowledge of in mixing, garnishing and serving drinks
    • Excellent English knowledge
    • Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
    • Ability to keep the bar organised, stocked and clean
