Royal Ascot Ladies Day

Thursday 20th June

Join us for food, fetlocks and finery at our Royal Ascot Ladies Day experience, open to all of course - you will be welcomed with a chilled glass of Midas Prosecco before enjoying a sumptuous 2 course buffet lunch with a glass of wine in the Waterside Suite, this will be followed by exciting horse racing action screened in live from the famous Royal Ascot on our big screen. In between races a delightful afternoon tea will be served before cheering on the last few races.

Sunday afternoon from 12-3pm at Captain's Club.

    Renowned vocalist Zoe Schwarz selects the crème de la crème of local jazz musicians to entertain in the lounge bar. Expect a variety of smooth jazz styles from swinging standards, bluesy ballads to Bossa Nova classics.  They play music from the great American songbook and more contemporary jazz repertoire, each adding their own individual flavour.

    Instrumental Trio with Ian Ellis on tenor-sax, Rob Koral on guitar and Ben Taylor on the double bass - with sax playing reminiscent of John Coltrane this is a world class act.

    25th Feb
    Rachel More (vocals) trio with Phil Doyle on piano and Pete Maxfield on double bass - featuring the Great American Songbook - the real deal!

    3rd March
    Graham Bennet (piano & vocals) Trio with Steve Reynolds the double bass and Mark Tubbs on guitar - Modern and contemporary jazz standards, including some latin and blues, played with panache and grace.

    10th March
    Sarah Bolter (sax & vocals) Trio with Phil Doyle on piano and Pete Maxfield on the double bass, jazz standards new and old with some very fine musicianship.

    17th March
    Sara Harris (vocals) Trio with Ray Shea on piano and Joe Limburn on the double bass, from jazz standards to popular soul grooves all delivered with style and sass.

    Zoe Schwarz (vocals) Jazz & Blues Trio with Rob Koral on guitar and Brett Nevill on the double bass, swinging jazz, bossanova grooves, rootsy blues and a healthy splash of original tunes, “Eye-catching vocals meets sumptuous guitar”.

    Julie Lewis (piano & vocals) - think Blossom Deary meets Eva Cassidy meets Nora Jones, and joined by the sensational Ian Ellis on tenor sax, the pair are world-class musicians.

    Véronique Jolly (vocals) trio with Rob Palmer bass and Terry Quinney-tenor sax, from the great American songbook to French chanson, a class act.
