Recent events have meant that many of us will be planning to holiday a little closer to home over the coming months. And with minimal travel times, plenty of things to see and do, and amazing last minute deals to be had, staycations could be something that many of us could get used to.

Here are just a few reasons why Dorset could be the perfect place for you to staycate this summer.

There are a whole host of things to see and do

From cycling in the New Forest and watching the sun set over Mudeford Quay to capturing Instagram-worthy snaps of Durdle Door, you’ll never be short of things to do.

Wherever you choose to stay, you’re likely to find lots of things within walking distance from your front door, so leave the car behind and enjoy a leisurely drink with lunch – you’re on holiday!

You can be spontaneous as you like

With no flights, transfers or airport parking to plan, you can well and truly embrace a spur of the moment getaway. You can set off from the likes of Bath, Bristol and London in the morning and be sipping a glass of wine by the Dorset coast by lunchtime.

Plus, if all you need to do is jump in the car and go, it’s more than likely that you’ll be able to take advantage of some last minute offers.

It feels a whole world away

With the beautiful River Stour, glorious New Forest National Park, and the truly magnificent Jurassic Coast all within easy reach, when you make a break for Dorset, you’ll be staying right in the heart of the action.

However, you’ll also find all of these places are wonderfully peaceful, and really do feel a whole world away. In fact, if you’re in search of the perfect escape from everyday life – a staycation in Dorset could be just the thing.

If you’re looking for the perfect hideaway in Dorset, take a look at our range of two and three-bedroom suites overlooking the River Stour.
