Tides Restaurant is the ‘pearl in the oyster’ of the Captain’s Club Hotel and has put Christchurch firmly on the UK gastro map.
As with the entire hotel, the design and ambiance of this river facing restaurant complements its locale, blending a contemporary maritime theme with cutting edge innovation and always a warm, attentive service. The menu reflects the feel of the hotel, uncomplicated, fresh, innovative and ultimately satisfying.
Tides Restaurant is open daily for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner – with the speciality “Tides Lunch Experience” served on Sundays.
Andrew Gault, the Head Chef at the Captains Club Hotel has been with us since we opened in 2006.
Prior to arriving in Christchurch, Andrew was the Sous Chef at the 7 star Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai. He has also held positions at St Andrews Bay Golf Resort, Gleneagles Hotel and the Michelin starred Royal Parc Hotel in Evian, France.
Due to his passion, Andrew and his team have established the Tides Restaurant as an award winning venue for fine cuisine and are committed to continually providing innovative, wholesome menus, sourcing the very best fresh local ingredients.
Andrew is ably supported by his Sous Chef, Adam Stocker, who was previously Head Chef at the Harbour Heights Hotel, as well as working locally at West Beach, Fish Works and Splinters in Christchurch and Langans in London.
Andrew and his team have been offering Christchurch something very different in dining since the hotel opened with their dishes carrying a unique slant inspired by their formidable experience in contemporary and inventive cuisine.
Andrew's top tip is ‘use only the freshest ingredients and always keep an eye on the finished product’.
