A unique cruising opportunity
Here at the Captains Club Hotel we have taken advantage of our location on the banks of the River Stour to provide you with a series of unique cruising opportunities. Offering either a River or Sea cruise, or the option to combine the two, you can relax in the knowledge that this is truly a special occasion.
There can be little more relaxing than a gentle cruise across the Bay of Christchurch, as you head towards the Isle of Wight with an experienced skipper at the helm of the hotels own 34ft Motor Cruiser `Nauti Girl`, whilst sipping a glass of chilled champagne.
Whether you are planning a special celebration for a loved one or a corporate activity for your company conference here at the Captains Club Hotel, we may have found the perfect solution. Departing from the Hotels own pontoon, subject to tide times, we have prepared a choice of half day or full day exclusives, plus the choice of a selection of wonderful river and bay cruises. Your comfort, safety and enjoyment are assured and a lasting memory guaranteed…
The choices of cruise options each with experienced skipper and crew steward are:
Full or half day exclusive use
Choose from our range of special journeys, for example; cruising to the Isle of Wight firstly to `The Needles` and then Alum bay before continuing to Yarmouth for morning coffee and a walk around the town, before sailing towards the North of the Island for late lunch on board, and then perhaps some afternoon bathing at nearby Newtown Creek? To complete your own exclusive experience we recommend you take afternoon tea on the tranquil Beaulieu River at the Montague estate before cruising back to Christchurch and the Captains Club Hotel.
Parties of up to eight persons are able to be accommodated on board, we are delighted to tailor either a half, or full day to your own specification. Please ask our sales department or telephone our reception for details of these special exclusive trips, which begin per person at £125 only, or a complete all inclusive cost of only £1250.
Choose your own view
Once on board the `Nauti Girl` the opportunity to explore one of the most famous stretches of coastline in the British Isles becomes reality. Just twenty minutes after entering the Bay of Christchurch following a gentle meander along the tranquil River Stour you can find yourself cruising just a few metres from one of the most spectacular sights in the area. `The Needles` on the Isle of Wight, may have many a story to tell and as you pass by you may seem to hear them whisper a tale or two…?
To the right of Needle point lies a secret cove, only accessible by boat, `Scratchells Bay` is where local smugglers used to hide their contraband to return to collect it later when the coast was clear. We may stop here for a breathtaking view of the rock face as it stretches way above us.
Next we cruise around to Alum Bay and its legendary multi-coloured sands, another perfect location at which to drop anchor for a photograph opportunity and perhaps a pre lunch drink.
Lunch on board `Nauti Girl` is Alfresco dining at its best, choose from our selection of freshly prepared local produce, accompanied by a glass of chilled white wine or champagne. Equally the option of traditional afternoon tea will provide the perfect compliment to your very special occasion.

Morning meander – River Stour & Avon cruise, with Chefs fresh pastries, morning coffee, tea and soft drinks included. Minimum two persons, at £100 per person. (Exclusive use). Parties over three persons at £75 per person – duration 90 minutes.
Lunchtime buffet special – River Stour & Avon, plus a Christchurch bay cruise, to include lunch on board, drinks additional, £125 per person. Minimum two persons at £150 per person (exclusive use) - duration 2.5 hours.
Afternoon tea river cruise – River Stour & Avon cruise to include afternoon tea with scones clotted cream, and fresh pastries, drinks additional. Minimum two persons, at £100 per person. (Exclusive use). Parties over three persons £75 per person - duration 90 minutes.
Evening Sundowner – River Stour, Avon and/or Bay cruise to view the sun going down across the bay, £70 per person, drinks and nibbles additional. Minimum two persons at £100 per person (exclusive use) - duration 90 minutes.

RIB Sensation
For those who delight in the pursuit of `speed on the water` we offer a thrilling and exhilarating `Blast around the Bay` under the careful seamanship of Captain Paul Derham aboard `Sensation`, a 9 metre rigid inflatable boat (RIB) licensed to carry twelve passengers. This exciting and unforgettable tour combines spectacular scenery, marine bird life, with the exhilaration of travelling at speed.
Up to twelve passengers can be accommodated for the ride of your life only £350 for the experience! - Duration 1 hour.
